Plastic Recycling- Direct

Plastic pollution is growing. Only 9% of plastic waste is recycled throughout the world. That is why we are investing directly into women in the developing world to help run small businesses recycling plastic within their communities.

Global Plastic Waste Crisis.

The world is currently generating double the amount of plastic waste compared to two decades ago, and a significant portion of this waste is either disposed of in landfills, incinerated, or released into the environment. According to a recent report from the OECD, only 9% of this plastic waste is successfully recycled.

As the global population and incomes continue to rise, there is an ongoing and substantial increase in the production and disposal of plastic.

In response to this critical issue, direct investments are being made in women in the developing world to empower them to operate small businesses focused on recycling plastic within their communities. Such investments have the potential to benefit not only local communities but also contribute to addressing the global plastic waste crisis. By supporting initiatives like these, we can make a meaningful impact on both a local and global scale.
